The development of information technology at this time causes a flood of information from various sources. One of the impacts is the lack of reading filters that can be accessed by everyone, including children. Children can easily access readings that are adult, SARA-smelling, to criminal literature where they shouldn't have received this information. One effort that can be done to balance this impact is to provide children with readings that are appropriate for their age. The effort to provide reading material is in the type of literary reading. In Indonesia, children's literature is quite developed with the existence of subjects that are an obligation to be taken by students at several universities. As a facility for this, it should be able to synergize with various parties to further improve children's literature in Indonesia.

The Department of Indonesian Language and Literature held a Guest Lecture with Okky Madasari, an Indonesian writer who is concerned with the world of children. Okky raised the theme "Literature and Children's Reading: Initiating Quality Children's Reading" in this guest lecture.
